Basingstoke
In Hampshire (Southampton and Portsmouth being cities), Basingstoke (/ BAY-zing-stohk/ˈbeɪzɪŋstoʊk) is the town that is largest. With a north-east and north green belt, making Basingstoke kite shaped, as a buffer zone the M3 acts to the town's south, and constrains the expansion of the west is the South Western Main Line. To form the borough of Basingstoke and Deane, the borough of Basingstoke was merged with other districts in 1974.
